About the Dodge Challenger
The Dodge Challenger is an intense performance vehicle. This vehicle is known for its racing capabilities. However, there are many different Dodge Challenger models that offer different features and capabilities when it comes to performance.
One popular Challenger model is the Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker. The original Challenger R/T came around in 1970, but there is a model today that features a 392 Hemi V8 engine that gives you 485-horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque. The Dodge Challenger T/A 392 is another popular model option found with that same engine.
Now, both of these models are about to get more capable and powerful with the addition of the Widebody package as an option for both of these models in 2021.
What is the Widebody Package?
This is a package that adds performance capability to the Dodge Challenger. This adds width for wider wheels and tires, which means that this vehicle can have more grip and faster times when it comes to drag racing. Specifically, the Widebody package on the Challenger R/T Scat Pack gives you 3.5-inches of width, 305/35ZR20 Pirelli tires, 20 by 11-inch wheels, a high-performance adaptive damping suspension, paddle shifters, different drive modes, and an SRT-tuned chassis.
According to Dodge Garage, “Now, new for 2021, Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker and T/A 392 buyers who opt for the Widebody Package will get the same Widebody performance, which includes an improvement of close to 2 seconds per lap or 12 car lengths compared with the R/T Scat Pack. In a quarter-mile comparison, the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody gains .2 seconds, running a 12.1-second ET at 112 mph.”
