New Ram Truck Takes on Ford Raptor
The Ram 1500 has been around for a while. It is a very capable truck when it comes to everyday driving, towing, and hauling. However, Ram wanted to create another truck that could compete with trucks like the Ford Raptor. Ram has a new high-powered, off-road capable pickup truck that will be coming your way soon. The 2021 Ram TRX looks incredible and powerful. It is built with bulging fenders and a scooped hood that carries a supercharged engine. The engine in this vehicle is a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 engine that is known as the Hellcat. The Hellcat produces 702-horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
When it comes to speed and acceleration, the Ram TRX can get you from zero to 60 in just 4.5 seconds, and it goes the quarter-mile in just 12.9 seconds. In addition to that speed, the Ram TRX offers you some off-road performance features. This truck gives you an off-road suspension, 35-inch all-terrain tires, Bilstein dampers, an electronic-locking rear differential, and skid plates. This vehicle can give you 11.8-inches of ground clearance for those who like to take the trail less traveled.
However, just because the Ram TRX can get dirty on the trail doesn’t mean the interior isn’t refined. The inside of the Ram TRX offers you leather-covered surfaces, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in navigation, and an optional 19-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system.
According to Car and Driver, “The battle for the best high-performance pickup truck just got interesting now that the 702-horsepower Ram 1500 TRX has entered the arena. The Hellcat-powered half-ton has the Ford F-150 Raptor squarely in its sights, but until its Blue Oval rival adds more power and steps up its interior game, the Ram might rule. Rivalry aside, the TRX is an impressive and intimidating machine.”
