Jeep Plug-In Hybrid Models Coming Soon

Jeep has announced that it will have three Jeep plug-in hybrid models that are coming your way soon. Learn more about these models below.
The Jeep Renegade, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Wrangler will all be getting plug-in hybrid options that are coming soon. The anticipated powertrain for the Compass and Renegade is a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor mounted on the rear. This engine is expected to give you more than 200-horsepower and a good all-electric driving range.
We don’t know all the details about these models, and we know even less about the new plug-in hybrid Wrangler model. When can you expect to learn more about these Jeep plug-in hybrid vehicles?
According to Road Show, “The party will kick off with the Wrangler, Compass and Renegade plug-in hybrid models, but Jeep wasn’t ready to dish out specifics. We do know, however, when we’ll see each of them. The Wrangler with a plug will debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Compass plug-in will arrive at the New York Auto Show and the Renegade plug-in is planned for a Beijing Motor Show debut this year.”
As you can see, electrification in the form of hybrid models seems to be pretty important to the Jeep brand right now. Where is this change coming from? Jeep is working to be more eco-friendly, and these three models are where they are starting to really do so.
Engadget tells us, “The plug-in hybrid Jeeps are part of Fiat Chrysler’s larger plans to electrify more than 30 models by 2022. Jeep teased plug-in versions of the Compass and Renegade last year, promising 240 horsepower, speeds of up to 62 MPH in 7 seconds and the ability to drive up to 31 miles on electric power alone.”
